Ray Bradbury | The birth of Center

Deciding “where” to restart The E82 Institute was a difficult one. Who could possibly get the ball rolling again?
For months I had struggled with this question, until it finally dawned on me — the only way to go forward would be to start where it all began…

In 1975, during the short time when the worlds of Epcot were still being considered as two separate locations, Bradbury was brought in to address WED Enterprises’ quick assembling collection of real-world advisors in the various subjects of Epcot’s (then titled) “Future World Theme Center”.

Over the next 82-minutes, Ray took participates on an incredible journey through the distant past and into the future with a focus on human flourishing and communication.

Bellow is an abridged version of that presentation and its should come as no surprise that, due in large part to Ray’s inspiring speech, less than 2 months later Walt Disney Productions announced they were going forward with EPCOT.
