FWSS - Special Edition

“If we don’t start [Star Wars] soon,
George Lucas is going to change it again!”
-The Big Bang Theory

In addition to Full Sail classes, multiple initiatives and massive research/data analysis for a Magic Kingdom project. “JLH Omnimedia” is going through an extensive restructuring of its assets, and one of the first things I decided to tackle was the FWSS (album covers and other visual data). As part of the process, I was able to eliminate over a GB of redundant or outdated material!

The benefit all of this is a better workflow and organization making projects easier to produce and control. However, all of this re-examining of past projects has bred contempt for slightly less than professional design elements and… well, it’s led to this…

No, you’re not having a flashback to two years ago, but the Entire Future World Soundtrack Series has been “Re-released” with a few hundred microscopic changes in the overall aesthetic look of the Series. Each Volume (even The Land) has been changed to reflect the New and Permanent style. (Don’t worry I promise this is the last time I’ll be doing this!)

Highlights Include…

  • New/Enhanced Cover Art
  • Embedded Artwork for all Audio Files
  • Consistent Liner Notes
  • and a Newly remixed Captain EO for Imagination

All changes are now in place.
Please visit the
MUSIC page to re-download the series!

NOTE:
Although, I’m optimistically calling this a “Re-release”, think of it more as a “Recall” and please help keep the digital frontier clean by deleting all previous/inferior files.

Just so you're aware, Universe of Energy doesn't seem to have any album artwork embedded, and the image that would fit the theme you've done with the rest of the albums isn't on Flickr...

Sean beat me to the punch, but as an aside there DOES appear to be album artwork if you view the thumbnails to each file in Windows Explorer (I'm on a PC). However, those thumbnails are not present when I open the file in iTunes (though according to the album artwork field there is a microscopic speck that will probably turn out to be the image, but I cannot extract it).

Good work, by the way. These will look great on the iPod touch.

Hey Guys!
Thanks for pointing this out! On my PC, the original files look just fine, but on the Mac is where the glitch became evident. I haven’t added them to Flickr yet, but I should do so soon. The tedious part is writing all those descriptions, but it’s a necessary “evil” (Not only do I create it, but I also describe what I created and why!? UGH) such is the life a hyper-communicative designer.
Back on topic: Our little “Energy crisis” should be solved now! Thanks again, for the tech help guys.
Circlevision: I haven’t forgotten about your question on the Land release. The inclusion of “Seasons of the Vine” at the end of Living with the Land will be explained in great detail soon when the Volume’s Production Notes are published in the next few weeks.

Just so you know, I am enquiring about how things are going with the Wonders of Life audio compilation. Glad to hear of the restructuring of the FW music compilation series and its reception by fans.

Hey Leroy,
It’s weird to think about but when I get finished with one volume, I want to immediately begin working on the next. (Then after the “high” wears-off I come to my senses and realize there are other initiatives at E82 besides the FWSS).
Yes, Wonders of Life is the next release and I’m already well down the road in pre-production. From an aesthetic aspect, the artwork is fully conceptualized, and should be done over a weekend. (Perhaps sometime in late December during school break.) The audio on the other hand presents some fundamental challenges…
Wonders is very unique among Future World pavilions in that (musically) it has no history, by which I mean there’s no second (or in some cases third) generation of attractions - it’s a single moment in time. As a result, I have some hard choices to make regarding a two disc collection. I think the “Energy model” would be the best. With the first disc jam-packed with a tightly constructed trip back to 1989 and the second disc featuring a “high concept” musical journey of related (but separate) material, as was done with the Progress City Suite. The only problem with is I’m currently missing the “concept” part of “High Concept” I might even relinquish some control to the group and solicit for ideas as to what should be on that “other” disc. I personally have few minor ideas forming, but nothing to the length needed. . . yet:)
Thanks for the comments Leroy!

Thank you for this! I like having all of the images on the sound files. :) I am definitely enjoying the releases.

I had a question, though. I like having the remasters of all of the Entrance Plaza songs (4 down, 2 to go, right?). I know you will be doing Motion later, but what about Golden Dream? How will you release that?

Thank you. :)

I don't know about you all, but my diamond is going to be Horizons. Cannot wait for that! And great work with the rework(:

I miss the bonus track on the first disc of Journey Into Imagination. That was the one that combines tracks 3 to 9 into one file. Not all MP3 players provide the possibility of adjustment how the files are loaded and played. I often listen to them in the car from a USB stick and the short pauses between the tracks are quite annoying.

Otherwise I appreciate every bit of work you put into this project. Thanks again.

Hey Ron!
I was wondering if anyone would notice the missing track. A lot has changed since 2010, one of these was the restructuring E82’s hosting company Squarespace. As such they now have upload limits for each file (20mb max), which they have very generously modified for me to 150mb. But even at this size, the Re-release of Imagination was too big with the bonus track. This all is probably much more than you want to know so to put it more simply…

The Bonus track is now its own separate download on the Imagination Discs page. You can go there directly or just follow this link…
